Poorly sick, and dirty rotten cheats

I’m not very well, sore throat, cough and some nasty hacking noises. I need to get this cleared up before the departmental graduation ceremony on Monday, so I am at home dosed up on lemsip, strepsils and tissues.

But,I have been reading emails, and wanted to mention a one day workshop on cheating and plagiarism that’s happening at BCU on the 7th March, driven by lecturers in our department who have a special interest in cheating.  I hope that I’m able to attend.

Thomas Lancaster Bob Clarke both have ‘previous’ in this area, a couple of years ago a paper they presented at a conference caught the attention of the papers and BBC News.

With everything that’s been going on recently, it’s easy to forget that there is a lot of this sort of thing happens in the background, without fanfare. I have to give an honourable mention to The Third International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Applications (ICPCA2008) which other academics are heavily involved in.

Right, back to the lemsips. Hope to have some photos of the Department of Computing graduation here on Monday.
